Description

  • Sapwood: the colour varies from white, light brown, pink brown to grey. Yellow or grey shades usually appear.
  • Heartwood: sometimes it can't be easily distinguished from sapwood.
  • Fiber: intertwined.
  • Grain: rough or thick.

Mechanization

  • Sawing process: difficult. Wide saw is required.
  • Drying process: drying process speed can vary from normal to low speed. Slow drying process is highly recommended.
  • Gluing process: difficult due to its very porous surface.
  • Nailing and screwing process: difficult due to the extraction problems.
  • Finish: no difficulties.
