Projects carried out by Marià Castelló with Lunawood

03/12/2023
Gabarró has participated with Lunawood®, the brand that we distribute exclusively in our country, in two projects by the architect from Formentera (Balearic Islands) Marià Castelló.

The facades of both residential projects, located in the Pitiusas, are made with planks of thermotreated Red Lunawood, which is PEFC certified.

It is a product that, being produced sustainably by natural methods such as heat and steam, and which, being entirely subjected to high temperatures (approx. 212º), eliminates living cells and achieves excellent stability. This procedure also completely removes the resin, making it an ideal wood for spaces subject to high temperatures, such as those of these projects.

BOSC D'EN PEP FERRER
Bosc d'en Pep Ferrer is a large plot located next to the Migjorn beach in Formentera (Baleares). They have chosen to cover the facades with Lunawood, which fits perfectly with the sustainable and bioclimatic construction, fundamental ideas for the realization of the project.

Lunawood thermowood has a beautiful brown hue that over time and if no maintenance product is applied, will evolve towards an attractive gray shade, as can be seen.

In the project, carried out under bioconstruction criteria, natural and indigenous materials have prevailed whenever possible. At the environmental level, the proposal incorporates passive bioclimatic systems of proven effectiveness in this climate, as well as water self-sufficiency.

CA L'AMO
Ca l'Amo is a plot of over 42,000 m2 located on the island of Ibiza. The house has been built in a terraced area with numerous pines and junipers, respecting and integrating the building with the exterior space and nature.

On this occasion, for the materialization of the project, dry construction systems were chosen, with a widespread presence of wood and breathable and healthy solutions, such as Lunawood thermowood, which adds value to a construction system that involves a style of life and at the same time generates comfort and environmental warmth.
