Lunawood wood submits wood to a combined cycle, where high temperatures and different levels of humidity are alternated. The intensive heat treatment transforms the structure and properties of wood. The natural tendency of wood to warp or shrink swell in different moisture conditions is reduced by at least 50%. The result is that Lunawood is much more stable than normal wood. The equilibrium moisture of thermotreated wood is much less than that of normal wood and its resistance to attack by xylophagous is equal to that of the larch, oak, or even the teak, depending on the degree of treatment.
